Sony's PS3 Price Issue

A major exec at Sony recently admitted that problems at the company are behind its reluctance to bundle games into promo packages or reduce the price of the PS3.

The PS3 price has remained pretty much the same since the console debuted, which has baffled and put off gamers. Many gamers waiting on a price cut on the PS3 have instead opted for other systems.

In an interview with Gamasutra, Sony associated Peter Dille said the corporation send out a memo that said "Let's try and eke out a profit." Dille's comments confirmed suspicions that the PS3 manufacturers are having trouble keeping up with Wii and Xbox 360.

Dille also predicted that the PS3 will have a product life of at least ten more years. Optimistically, Dille also said that the PS3 will drive the gaming industry.
