The Man Who Created MP3 Players

The man who created MP3 players, Karlheinz Brandenburg, was affiliated with the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany. The Institute was the first company to develop MP3 technology.
Brandenburg is often called "the father of MP3" for his integral role in creating MP3 coding. According to Brandenburg, the MP3 technology he helped develop almost failed, but he found the error in the code two days before the company's deadline.
Mr. Brandedburg collaborated with a man named Dieter Seitzer who also had a major role in creating MP3 players. Seitzer had previously worked on trying to transmit music over a basic phone line.
Fraunhofer Institute patented MP3 technology in 1989. It wasn't until ten years later that the first portable MP3 player appeared.
